Akina KizukaJunior Team AthleteAkina Kizuka, 18, from Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, began snowboarding as soon as she could walk and has been passionate about the sport ever since. She started competing in age group events at just six years old and has steadily progressed through the ranks. Over the years, Akina has earned five podiums at the USASA National Championships, including two during the 2023–24 season. She made her NorAm debut and attended her first Junior World Championships in Valmalenco, Italy, marking major milestones in her young career. This season, she continues to train with Ski Roundtop Racing Club as she works toward her goals of competing on the World Cup circuit and one day representing Team USA at the Olympic Games.
A recent graduate of Wilson High School, Akina is now pursuing studies in Chemistry at Ohio State University while balancing her training and competition schedule. Off the snow, she enjoys running, surfing, and going to the gym, as well as staying connected with friends and teammates. Akina’s strong work ethic, technical skill, and love for the sport make her an essential part of the U.S. Snowboard Racing Team’s next generation. |
